Robin James
A voice in the wilderness...

Robin is caught in a pensive pose during a photo shoot.

Versatile, powerful, awesome, professional, gifted- all these words have been used to describe the talent of singer/sonwriter Robin James.
People packed the front table area to meet Robin and buy her CD after the concert at Adams State College's Carson Auditorium. One woman bought five CD's that night. True to her reputation, Robin gave a powerful performance- three hours worth of original music and cover songs by Jewel, Dido, Joan Osborne, and many others. Robin pours herself into the music, delivering what concert-goers have come to expect from the five-foot-two-inch little powerhouse. Robin smiles when people wonder how a voice like that can come from such a small person. She's been singing like that since she was a little girl. She was vamping at two years old. Peers comment about her 'voice control'. Fans wonder at the star-quality of this 'hometown girl.' Her lyrics come from the heart, and her music belies the conventions of a commercial world, as she crosses over from alternative to country to classical to blues. She listens to all types of music, and she can deliver the nuances of a song like the brush strokes of a great artist. Her early influences included Whitney Houston, and at twelve she could make you cry when she sang I Will Always Love You. No matter where Robin James goes, in life, the stage will always be her home.

MOUNTAIN WINTER
The Rocky mountains could inspire an artist to paint, great words to come to a writer, a singer to put their very soul into the music, which explains why many artists, singers, and musicians call the Rocky Mountains 'home.' The winterscape captured here by photographer Debbie Pittman needs no words to describe it.
